The Custer County Foundation reviewed grant requests for the period ending April 30, 2026, and they are awarding a total of $43,521.33 to 10 Custer County organizations.
“It’s always an exciting time when we get to announce our grant recipients,” said Rilee Daffer, Executive Director of the Foundation. “The generous support we receive from our donors, through our annual Gala & Auction in December, enables the Foundation to continue to have a county-wide impact through the grants we can award.”
The Foundation Grants committee recommended, and the Board of Directors approved, the following grants:
Ansley Public Schools – $2,500 – to replace the current weight room bench press, incline bench press, barbells & weight sets.
Arnold Rural Fire Department – $5,500 – to improve communication and tracking with Starlink and tablets.
Broken Bow Girls Wrestling – $140 – to purchase climbing ropes.
Callaway Good Life Center – $6,302.96 – to purchase 8 new adjustable beds, with compatible mattresses.
Central Nebraska Animal Rehousing Helper – $3,000 – to purchase kennels for foster dogs.
Custer County Ag Society – $3,500 – to repair air conditioning in the shooting sports/paddock building, and a new window air unit for the beef barn concessions stand.
Prairie Pioneer Center – $5,000 – to purchase a new dishwasher.
Sargent Recreation Committee – $10,850 – to purchase benches and picnic tables for the beautifying project, with the condition of a plaque attached denoting the donation from the CCF.
South Loup 4-H Club – $4,940.37 – to add archery to the shooting sports program.
Village of Callaway – $1,788 – to purchase and install 2 push/pull plates to the exterior doors.
The next grant application period ends October 31, 2026. Applications may be accessed online at www.custercountyfoundation.org. When submitting applications, it is important to complete all the requested information and submit a complete application. Incomplete applications may not be funded.
